Make Your Move Movement Retreats

Inspiring and uplifting our movement retreats give wonderful movement experiences Touching , and moving our deepest of hearts, melting into the mysterious seas of sound, communicating and connecting with others, sharing and expressing our deepest selves as a gateway to access our movement art and the inner dance. We invite you on these journey’s to explore your creative potential and express yourself in these various workshops offerings where we will have some fun with movement, music, meditation and art while connecting with our creativity, in a safe and non-judgemental space

These creative movement workshops are designed to travel through the Deeperdene Exploring feelings more freely and deeply. Knowing something in your heart gives you a depth of possibility This exciting journey will be about listening with your skin; speaking through your body; negotiating boundaries; differentiating qualities of touch; altering the “map of the body“ creating new meanings for touch, movement, and gesture. To this end, we will refine our perception of inner space and body rhythms, as well as our outer sensory/spatial awareness.

Series 1 "Living Inside and Outside Retreat":  “Is an expanded palate of Moving Creatively. Paying attention to our movement ritual exercises is a way of fostering practical connections between our inner and our outer lives, between symbolic process and daily chores, between personal intuitions and choices that affect others. During our time together, we will experiment various Movement techniques that may help us to listen to the fragmented epiphanies of our heart's ear and, perhaps, become more intimate with our hidden wholeness by exploring your creativity and discovering your inner wisdom using movement meditation and art.

Series 2 "Encouraging Freedom Within": Dance/Movement from the Inside Outside. When you go in and expand beyond your usual self you will come alive with enthusiasm of life. This is the invaluable inner inspiration that dance inside is facilitating through its support of Movement. In this workshop, Dance/Movement will be the vehicle to explore how we use ourselves in our work--be it clinical or creative--and tend to ourselves in our lives. We will work on honing our internal and external perception. We will explore the non-duality of going inside to attend to the outside and how tending to ourselves and working with our own process is a vehicle to meeting others empathically. Particular emphasis will be placed on self-renewal and replenishment.

Series 3 "Writing from the Body": These creative workshops explores the relationship between movement and writing.The emphasis will be on investigating and developing a deeper spectrum of somatic experience from which to expand and cultivate the journal work. When kinaesthetic awareness is increased, the writing comes from a more embodied place. This can access writing from new levels of consciousness. Movement work will be both detailed and unstructured to learn about both the mechanics and energy of movement. You will experience writing as a physical act, with the body as instrument, metaphor and resource.The work spans a creative field of stillness, speaking, listening, breath and voice.

Suzie has worked and had experience with various groups and individuals, experiencing and developing a creative process of movement to open and evolve the wisdom and awareness of the body. She trained with Anna Halprin (US) and Suprapto Suryadarmo. Indonesia She facilitates intuitively and in response to the unique journey each person needs to make. Committed to the recovery of self-love and personal power, she has also worked in hospitals and with those with special needs Suzie works with creative movement for self-expression, healing and transformation. This creative process encompasses meditation, bodywork, the voice, visual art, and writing.

Fundamental Embodied writing re- connects, and re -learns in a visceral magical way, how to inhabit and nurture our physical body by honoring all our senses. These senses gather data and feed it back to our brain which gives us our lens on ,how we view the world outside .
